A Guy Walks Into a Cliche… (In a Bar…)

I’m enjoying a quick getaway to NYC with The Queen. As we visited a friend’s new bar (the awesome E’s Bar- check it out!) I became a walking cliche. Chatting with the bar’s manager, I may have said, “I work in insurance but I’m really focused on my writing…”

Yup. Those words have never been uttered in a NYC bar. At least it wasn’t a pick-up attempt.

I will at least offer proof of my claim, though. I’ve got an idea for a blog post that I plan to sit down and write this afternoon. Just a guy, sitting at a bar, scribbling in a journal.

That’s original, right?
