Embracing the Unknown: Nontraditional College Student

I am a nontraditional college graduate. I went back to school in my 30s and finished my Bachelors and MBA before I turned 40. I’m proud that I finished school but the decision to go back as an adult was scary.

I’ve written about the business of higher education before (Hey Brother – Can You Spare a College Degree?). For me, I was very happy to find a school that I could afford while working and supporting my family. I finished my degrees without the crushing debt that so many students take into their post-academic life.

Columbia College is a great deal – a robust, accredited program, seamless integration of in-class and online courses, and a culture that embraces non-traditional students.
